About Nate
Nate is a 2nd degree black belt in Free-Style Karate and has been practising martial arts since he was just 8 years old. Nate also has experience in Kickboxing, K1 and Boxing.
After being bullied as a child Nate wanted to learn a form of self defence. Very quickly he fell in love with the sport. At 15 years old Nate acheived his 1st degree black belt, and at 18 years old he was selected to represent team England at the world championships in Alicante, Spain where he won a silver medal. He went on to represent England on another 4 tours winning another 3 bronze, 2 silver and finally won gold on the 2013 tour of Dublin, Ireland.
In 2013 after the world championships Nate decided to hang up his gloves and attend university to study sport coaching and therapy in his home county of Cornwall. This wasn't the life for him as his passion for the sport never left. Nate became a coach at the age of 18 and enjoyed working for his coaches academy.
In 2015 Nate found himself stuck in a dead end job and back living with his parents and no longer teaching martial arts. Miserable and unhappy with the way life was unrolling Nate decided to make a decision that would change his life! In May 2015 he left Cornwall and moved to Cromer to set up NGMA. In September he started running his classes teaching only 8 students per week. NGMA now has 3 mainstream locations, 5 after school clubs, an anti-bullying workshop and over 120 students.
