TEACHING ASSESSMENT

At purple stripe in our grading syllabus and each grading thereafter, we require the students to teach part of the syllabus to younger students.

This is the grade where we consider our students to be "advanced grades". They have spent years learning and perfecting their own skills and in the spirit of martial arts an advanced grade student should be able to confidently and selflessly pass down their knowledge to a less experienced student.

The purple stripe assessment requires them to teach the techniques involved at yellow belt and this is usually done in a Lil Nippers class. Students will be graded based on their own knowledge and understanding of the techniques and the ability to teach others. So this includes things like confidence, tone of voice, body language and the ability to correct technique.

Students will now be graded out of 100 possible points with the breakdown being 25 points on a sparring assessment, 25 points on the teaching assessment and 50 points on the actual grading itself.
